Humble beginnings

The history of the DR. FISCHER Group starts with the founding of the DR. FISCHER Speziallampenfabrik. The business purpose of the company was to regenerate burnt-out light bulbs. The production of headlamps for motor vehicles, the setting up of product lines for projection lamps, photo lamps and stage lamps are further milestones in the development towards becoming one of the leading centres of competence for special lighting requirements.

DR. FISCHER Europe S.A.S. in France mainly produces lamps with high-voltage technology. It is a modern production plant for premium quality special lamps that can be used in industry, skilled crafts, traffic, medicine and other areas.

DR. FISCHER Italy s.r.l. is one of the world market leaders for domestic lamps for use in refrigerators, ovens, cooker hoods, microwave appliances and others. Customers include major white goods manufacturing companies. DR. FISCHER Italy s.r.l. produces more than 45 million lamps per year.

In order to facilitate lamp sales, DR. FISCHER Speziallampen Vertriebs GmbH was founded in 1998. Its task is practice-related customer advice, order processing and punctual delivery of lamps.

KEGLER Lichttechnik GmbH expanded the product spectrum to include special, extremely high-quality lamps that are used in medicine. OP lamps, lamps for dental lights and analysis devices make extreme demands in terms of precision and safety. These are the special competences of KEGLER Lichttechnik GmbH.

KANDEM GmbH, founded in 1889 as Körting & Mathiesen, with its portfolio of lights, expands the group's range of products to include project solutions with standard lights for office and industry and also object-specific, tailor-made special solutions. KANDEM is known for its innovative object lighting with light fittings for nearly every field of application, including sports facilities, trade, administration and educational facilities.

The DR. FISCHER Group installed a new division in January 2010, DR. FISCHER LED GmbH. This company concentrates on the development, manufacture and sales of technically functional, energy-efficient LED solutions. Customer and project-specific modifications for various applications, such as signal, medical or decorative lighting technology.

Asian markets are prospering. Despite of the world economic crisis increasing growth figures are realized in these markets indicating stable growth. Especially in the field of modern lamps and innovative light solutions there is an enormous demand.
